The Waterloo Interchange. A barter market on the high platforms, twice weekly, and beneath it the water-allocation relay that feeds Lambeth, Bermondsey and Southwark through infrastructure calibrated for 2020 flow. The market is the social hub and the relay chokepoint, which is why every intelligence asset in the ruins passes through it. Forecasts arrive here from the Green Coat Network and have never once been wrong. Nobody asks where the data comes from. I have asked. The record does not answer.

Field record

Buried beneath Waterloo Interchange high market. Routes clean water to Lambeth, Bermondsey, Southwark through pre-Upheaval infrastructure calibrated for 2020 flow. Current load running 40cm above design tolerance. Not structurally assessed in three years.

EO Station Alpha holds the spring tide projection data showing catastrophic flooding in 14–18 months. EO orders: assess strategic value, not protect civilian populations. The market above it continues twice-weekly operations. Forty thousand people trust the floor.

People

Petra Vane
person · character
Deceased relay rat who kept Flooded London's taps running nine years. Her dead water-authority credential is now worn as a relic.
Tomás Verne
person · character
The Green Coat Network's only human interface. Delivers tide forecasts to the Interchange twice weekly; never wrong. Holds a notation, PUMP VARIANCE DETECTED, that he has not passed to anyone.

Organizations

Tidal Resistance
