Field record

Fourteen warheads. 2042. The Indo-Pakistani exchange erased governance completely. The Heralds emerged from survivors who adapted to radiation-layered terrain — lethal pockets adjacent to survivable corridors, legible only to those who grew up reading them.

Faction intelligence briefings call it the Forbidden Zone and describe Heralds possessing a mass-casualty bioweapon. The intel is accurate. The assumptions are wrong. The Heralds are building a global dispersal mechanism for their own rad-adaptation genetics — modifications allowing survivors to metabolize low-level radiation, accelerate cellular repair. They intend global release. Not to kill. To transform.
