Officially a multi-faction research installation — climate data, geological surveys, ice-core analysis. In practice, a three-way intelligence operation where EO, NAF, and NCB each have operatives, each knows the others are there, and each pretends otherwise.
The classified archive partition contains pre-Upheaval climate projections accurate to current conditions. It also contains the EREBUS installation coordinates and the first authentication key. Commander Katya Volkov extracted the key 18 months ago. NAF found the second key independently six months later. Neither knows about the other.
